The Third Legislative District Democrats post its own events, along with events from Spokane County Democrats.
March 10, 2020
Voters in Washington will cast their ballots no later than Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the first Democratic presidential primary election in our state that will allocate delegates to a Democratic National Convention.
Ballots must be deposited in a dropbox or at an elections office no later than 8:00 pm on March 10 to be counted. Ballots may also be mailed (postage paid) for tabulation (in which case they must be postmarked by March 10, 2020 to be counted.)
Voters are reminded that for delegates to the national convention to be allocated to a particular candidate, that candidate must receive at least 15% of the vote in a congressional district or statewide.
As a result, it may make sense for voters to cast their ballots after the results of the "Super Tuesday" (March 3, 2020) primary elections are known.
While the results of the presidential primary will be used to allocate delegates to the national convention, caucuses (meetings) will still be used in our state to select the individuals filling delegate slots. In the 3rd Legislative District, the legislative district caucus (the first round of the national delegate selection process) will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020. Information about that caucus may be found here.
